The data collection is led by Dr. Shannon Mason and Dr. Melissa Bond, with Prof. Susan Ledger co-writing all articles. Shannon and Mel are both Early Career Researchers, and all three researchers completed their PhDs while also caring for young children. Melissa Bond
Research Fellow and EPPI-Reviewer Support Officer University College London Adjunct Associate Professor Qualitative Evidence Synthesis University of Stavanger Melissa began working as an EPPI-Reviewer Support Officer at the University College London in February 2020. Prior to this, she worked as a Research Associate as part of the ActiveLearn project at the University of Oldenburg (Germany) from 2017-2020. She handed in her PhD in January 2020, with the focus 'Facilitating student engagement through educational technology in K-12', supervised by Prof. Dr. Olaf Zawacki-Richter, which she defended on 9 July 2020.

Susan recognises the power of education to transform lives. Her PhD was completed in the middle of West Papua whilst juggling a new baby and international school teaching role. She is committed to exploring education policies and practices relating to teaching and preparing to teach diverse students with a focus on diverse locations. Susan has a broad experiential base in rural, remote and international school settings and university contexts. Her recent endeavours focus on the affordances of emerging technologies to prepare graduate teachers for teaching and PhD students for their confirmations and/or vivas. She is an advocate for life-long learning, working women and the teaching profession.
